Thank-you again to the lovely people at the Ridgetown Horticultural Society for having me last night! My hands weren't shaking nearly as much this time as the last time I did a demonstration! I'm proud to be a member of a group that is doing so much good for our community. Last spring when I became involved in some small clean-up projects around town, I was surprised at the sense of pride and feeling of ownership I had after taking part. I've had a little hiatus now from contributing, but certainly plan to more now that I am more settled into this new gig!
Pictured above is the Strawberry Chocolate Mint Wreath I made at the meeting last night. I'm excited to be hosting my first workshop tonight to make this wreath with a great group of gals. I think we're going to have a lot of fun! Happy Easter and enjoy your long weekend everyone!

This little Easter Take-Away is coming with me tonight to the Ridgetown Horticultural Society meeting. I was the lucky winner at the March meeting of a shamrock (or oxalis if I really want to be a proper horti!) so I thought I would bring a little something tonight to contribute to the monthly draw. I'm also priveledged to be speaking at tonight's meeting and doing a floral demonstration. I know most of the lovely people at the meeting and yet my guts twist every time I think of getting up in front everyone. Wish me luck!...maybe I should bring my oxalis with me instead of this little goody!- Karla

Earthy Goodness

Pussy willow wakened from her cozy winter nap,
For the frolicking spring breeze, on her door would tap.
“It is chilly weather, though the sun feels good;
I will wrap up warmly and wear my furry hood.”
Happy Earth Day one and all! I hope you enjoy Mocha Violet's Earth Day Bouquets and the free soy candle to light in your home Saturday at 8:30pm

Another First
When Stephanie heard last May of my upcoming career change she promptly told me that I had my first wedding booking. I could not have asked for a more relaxed and open bride to work with during my first foray into wedding flowers. Thank-you so much Stephanie for the experience and I hope you enjoyed the flowers as much as I enjoyed preparing them for you. Happy Honeymooning!

Happy New Year!

It’s official – we’re a flower shop here at Mocha Violet! I had to pinch myself in the days leading up to Christmas as centre-pieces, bouquets and lovely planters went out the door…how exciting! Happy New Year everyone and thank-you so much for your support during the holidays!
Even though Main Street Ridgetown has been quieter these past few weeks, we have been ever busy at the Vi! We’ve cleaned up our Christmas decorations and refreshed the shop with clean lines, fresh linens and air purifying plants. After a big clean, we decided we should call in a professional to capture the moment! Thank-you Emily Spagnolo for coming and taking such beautiful pictures of the shop for our website. We’re also working on plans for our booth at the Chatham-Kent Wedding Show and getting ready for our first actual wedding at the end of the month. There is always something new and exciting on the horizon...
